Dr. Andrea L. Young is the mother of one son, a
Humanitarian, Philanthropist and Motivational Speaker. She further distinguishes herself as a published scholar with a PhD in
Psychology working as a licensed expert in the field of Psychology. She serves
as a Psychotherapist/Assessor/Psychological Consultant/Disease Manager in Atlanta
and regions of the East Coast (From New York to Miami). Her eclectic approach
to therapy includes CBT, SFT, Mindfulness, Reality Therapy, Life Skills,
Existential, Art Therapy, and others. Her specialized areas are Depression,
Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, and Substance Abuse. She is multicultural,
universal, and nonjudgmental in her therapeutic approach with adult
individuals/groups/family/geriatrics with comorbidity or singular diagnosis.
She completed her post-graduate work at Capella University, her
Master’s Degree in Community Counseling at Argosy University, and a Bachelor’s
degree in Social Work at Savannah State University. She is a proud member of
the UHOPFAP (Church Affiliation), a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc,
O.E.S, Heroines of Jericho, Knights of the Templar's Crusade, and Daughters of
Isis.
During Operation Desert Storm, Dr. Young served 20 years of
glorious service as a decorated Officer in the United States Army/Army Reserves
with meritorious honors. She is an international traveler visiting 17 countries
including Europe, the Middle East, South America, and the Mediterranean. One of
her Life Motto is: “I chose to love as much as my heart can hold, and when it
can’t hold any more love, then I will leave with dignity knowing that I made
the world a better place in my own way… we have more in common, we must embrace
our differences.”
